In this level, we build upon the foundational knowledge acquired at the beginner level, offering you a deeper understanding of the language and increased proficiency in communication.

In this course, we will delve into more complex grammar structures, such as the past tense (pretérito indefinido) and irregular verbs, enabling them to narrate past events and express themselves more fluently.

What Is Level A2?

Level A2 in Spanish refers to the second stage of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) proficiency scale.

At this level, learners have achieved basic competence in Spanish and can communicate in familiar situations with some autonomy.

What are the A2 Level Skills?

At this stage, learners can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance, such as personal information, family, shopping, and work. A2 learners can interact in a simple way, provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly, and they can describe aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need. This level represents a foundational stage of language proficiency, laying the groundwork for further language development and communication skills.

COMPREHENSION

Listening Comprehension


  • A2 learners can understand simple, everyday conversations, announcements, and instructions on familiar topics, provided the speech is clear and delivered at a moderate pace.
  • They can grasp the main points and some specific details in conversations related to personal experiences, family, hobbies, and routine activities.


Reading Comprehension


  • A2 learners can comprehend simple written texts such as short articles, emails, advertisements, and basic instructions. They can understand the main ideas, identify key information, and extract relevant details from texts related to familiar topics like personal interests, travel, and everyday life.



SPEAKING

  • A2 learners can engage in basic conversations and express themselves in familiar situations.
  • They can ask and answer questions related to personal information, daily routines, hobbies, and interests.

What can I achieve with this level?


Travel

A2 proficiency equips you with the language skills necessary for basic travel communication. You can ask for directions, order food in restaurants, purchase goods in shops, and handle common travel situations like booking accommodations or arranging transportation.


Everyday communication

You can engage in basic conversations with Spanish speakers about familiar topics such as personal information, daily routines, hobbies, and interests. You can introduce yourself, ask and answer simple questions, and participate in straightforward exchanges in social and casual settings.


Work

In certain job roles that require minimal Spanish communication, such as customer service, hospitality, or entry-level positions, A2 proficiency may be sufficient. You can handle basic tasks like greeting customers, providing simple instructions, or answering routine inquiries in Spanish-speaking environments.
